Cédric returns to the LSO!
This weekend on Sunday 8th March, Cédric Tiberghien returns to the London Symphony Orchestra conducted by Karina Canellakis to perform Maurice Ravel's Piano Concerto in G Major.
In contrast to many of the concertos he composed, for his Piano Concerto in G Major Ravel was heavily influenced by jazz which he had encountered on a concert tour of the United States in 1928. Ravel’s intentions were clear, aiming to write something “light, fanciful and not inherently serious in the spirit of Mozart and Saint-Saëns”. See Cédric practice here!
